If 1/10 th of the radon sample has to be remained then 90 % of the radon sample has to be degraded.
Given Half-Life =t1/2= 6.931 days
Half-Life means the substance should be degraded 50% of its initial quantity.
=0.693/t1/2
=0.693/6.931
=0.099
If the initial number of atom is a=Ao then after time t the number of atoms is a/10 = A
t = 2.303/ logAo/A
=2.303/0.099 log a/a/10
=2.303/0.099 log 10
=23.26*1
=23days
