Hello, I am a dropper. From what I researched, It is better to do a bachelors in either life sciences/ biotech and then take bioinformatics for masters. Which one of them would hv better scope? and suit bioinformatics base more? and which offers better package and jobs
Dear Student,
If you want to take bioinformatics in masters, Biotechnology can be the better starting point. Life Science is considered more theoretical and covers a vast range of topics (Botany, Zoology, Chemistry).
During your Bachelor's in biotechnology, you will get exposure to molecular biology techniques, biostatistics, and sometimes even basic computational modules. This can help you get into a Masters in Bioinformatics much smoother.
As a fresh biotech graduate, you can expect a starting salary of approximately Rs 2.5 LPA to Rs 5 LPA, which will grow with time and experience.
