Hello, I have arts stream in 12th. But I have interest in maths. How can I pursue maths further without my arts stream becoming a road block. In Delhi, can I do "BA Program" that offers two subjects. Can I pick maths among them am I eligible for a BA PROGRAM with one of two subjects being maths
Hi,
Yes, you can still pursue Maths even after Arts stream, but there is one important thing in DU:
For courses like:
• B.A. (Hons.) Economics
• B.Sc Mathematics
• Mathematical Sciences
DU usually requires Mathematics/Applied Mathematics in Class 12 and CUET.
In BA Programme, subject combinations depend on the college. Some DU colleges may offer combinations involving Maths/Mathematical Sciences, but generally Maths in Class 12 is preferred or required.
If you did not have Maths in 12th, better options can be:
• BA Economics in some non-DU universities
• Statistics/Data Analytics courses with flexible eligibility
• Open learning + bridge Maths courses
• Cognitive Science / Social Science research fields using quantitative methods
You should definitely check the exact DU eligibility for the colleges/course combinations you want before applying.
Hope it helps.
