Hello Student,
Yes, you can still aim for a Master’s in Germany, even if you had an RT in Physics in Class 12 and did not clear the compartment exam, provided your current Bachelor’s degree is successfully completed and you meet the specific Master’s admission requirements.
For German Master’s admissions, the main focus is generally your Bachelor’s degree, its recognition/equivalence, your Bachelor’s subjects and grades, and the requirements of the particular Master’s programme. uni-assist states that applicants normally need a recognised Bachelor-equivalent degree in a related field, and universities may set additional requirements such as minimum grades or relevant coursework.
Your Class 12 marksheet can still be requested during the application process. Some German universities require the school-leaving certificate even for Master’s applications, but this does not automatically mean that an old Class 12 RT makes you ineligible. The university will decide based on its own admission rules.
So, if you complete BA Applied Psychology with strong grades, build relevant experience/research, and meet the requirements of a suitable Psychology-related Master’s, your Class 12 Physics RT should not by itself end your Germany plans.
For scholarships, you can also apply separately where eligible; admission and scholarship selection are separate processes.
Your Bachelor’s performance from now onward is therefore very important. Focus on getting a strong CGPA and choosing a Master’s programme whose prerequisites match your BA. Best wishes for your study journey!
