Micropropagation is the practice of rapidly multiplying stock plant material to produce many progeny plants, using modern plant tissue culture methods. Micropropagation is utilized to duplicate plants, for example, those that have been hereditarily adjusted or reared through regular plant reproducing techniques. It is likewise used to give an adequate number of plantlets for planting from a stock plant which doesn't create seeds, or doesn't react well to vegetative generation. Cornell University botanist Frederick Campion Steward found and spearheaded micropropagation and plant tissue culture in the late 1950s and mid 1960s.
