- Atmospheric nitrogen is fixed by heterocyst with the help of Nitrogenase enzyme.

Heterocyst is found in Cyanobacteria.IT is a specialized cell found in nitrogen fixing bacteria named CyanoBacteria.These are enlarged cell having thick cell wall.They do not have chlorophyll and have a colourless appearance.They regulated nitogen and they release enzyme named nitrogenase.
