Hello,
The best way to deal with current affairs is to read newspapers on a daily basis, you can choose between the The Hindu or The Indian Express, if you do this on a daily basis, you don't have to mug up everything at the last moment of the exam, there are various competitive exams sites which offer monthly compilations for current affairs, there are magazines such as Pratoyogita Darpan which is really good, but newspaper is the best option among all for covering the dynamic portion, for static portion you may visit the site of GK Today, Lucent's GK is really good.

the syllabus consists of events of national and international importance, sports, awards, new appointments, UN Bodies, environment agreement etc, emphasize more on the editorial part of newspaper, this is very important, it'll help in your vocabulary, knowledge as well as English section.
