hi everyone, I scored 275 in my board (pcb), to get bvsc government seat in Karnataka through kcet how many marks i need to score out of 180 in kcet , also I'm willing to write practical exam , in that how many marks i needtp score out of 200, is board exams marks are considered for bvsc please anyone share your knowledge
For B.V.Sc . & A.H. through Karnataka KCET, the important point is that the merit calculation is different from engineering admissions.
For B.V.Sc . & A.H., Karnataka's 2026 rules state that eligibility requires 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English, with 40% for SC/ST/Category-1 and specified OBC categories. The merit for the Agriculturist Quota is prepared using 50% of KCET PCB marks and 50% of practical-test marks.
The practical examination is conducted for the Agriculturist Quota and carries 200 marks, with at least 50% (100/200) required to claim the quota.
So, there is no fixed KCET score such as 150/180 that guarantees a government veterinary seat. Your final merit depends on your combined KCET and practical performance and the category-wise competition.
For example, if you score:
140/180 in KCET PCB → 77.78%
160/200 in practical → 80%
Your combined merit percentage under the 50:50 formula would be approximately 78.89%.
Your 275 board marks alone cannot determine your admission chance. What matters is whether you satisfy the prescribed Class 12 eligibility and then your KCET + practical performance and counselling rank.
For a government B.V.Sc . seat, I would recommend aiming as high as possible in both KCET and the practical test, rather than targeting only the minimum qualifying marks.
