Let me tell you what actually happens.

As we all know the admission process is will be get done through counselings i.e,  online.
college  provides the information regarding, age,grade,caste reservation, qualification percentages etc,
to select the students accordingly  who meet the given criteria.
.
So, unless you both of them possess the same skills, percentage, grade you both of them can't get selected in the same college.

Even Speaking up with college staff  is not useful.They are helpless.

If the fate supports you and gets Impressed with bond you have chances for being selected.

Keeping a hope is way more better then being fixed
