hi i got 38.7 in gate mechanical 2017. which colleges and courses can i apply for? is there a possibility for iit with this score?

With 38.7 in GATE mechanical you will not get core mechanical branches in IITs or NITs like Thermal, Design, production, CAD/CAM. What you can get is interdisciplinary subjects like earth science, climiate change.

Now, if you really want to get into core subjects you can apply for state run colleges or priviate universities through GATE marks.

Many state and priviate university offer admission based on GATE score.

And since you are GATE qualified AICTE will provide scholarship. AICTE will give you stipend of 12400/- per month for the period of 2 years.
