Hi, I have a query regarding the IBPS PO application. My educational certificates have only my first name and last name, but my Aadhaar and PAN include my father's name as a middle name. Which name should I enter? Has anyone faced this during IBPS exam registration and during doc verification??

For IBPS PO registration , the safest approach is to enter your name exactly as it appears on your educational certificates , provided it is also consistent with your identity documents or can be linked without ambiguity.

In your case:

• Educational certificates: First Name + Last Name
• Aadhaar & PAN: First Name + Father's Name (as middle name) + Last Name

This is a name mismatch , but it does not automatically lead to rejection.

What should you do?

• Fill the application using the name specified in the IBPS notification . Generally, the name should match your identity proof used during the examination and document verification.
• If there is a mismatch between your educational certificates and Aadhaar/PAN, keep supporting documents ready. If available, an affidavit or gazette notification can help establish that both names refer to the same person.
