As per your query this is one question which every one or the other aspirant faces trouble in solving.

For solving these type of questions you have to be very clear with all forms of isomerism and you have memorize certain formulas by heart. There are also exceptions so make a list of that and memorize it.

But honestly if you are weak in that i would recommend you leave that question because it has a very high probability that your answer would be wrong so do not waste time in these type of questions and move ahead.
