hi, My son(NRI,born in Tamilnadu)is studying in 12th grade in USA high school. Here school board won't provide marks in percentage,
You may check the Grade Conversion guidelines available of the Association of Indian Universities to convert your grades to percentage.
Hi Sudha!
As per the standards of mark conversion provided by the Association of Indian Universities and accepted in NEET, your son will have to convert his grades into percentage using the midpoint of the grade range. What this means is that supposing he was awarded A grade in a certain subject in Class 10, which translates to a range of 90 to 100 as mentioned by you, then he will have to enter his percentage as 85%, which is the midpoint. This conversion point is recognized and in effect for all International GCSE grading, which is considered equivalent to Class 10 in Indian Boards of study.
So, as per the grades and corresponding percentages provided by you, your son has scored 5 As and 2 Bs in Class 10. Therefore, his final Class 10 percentage will be an average of 95, 95, 95, 95, 95, 85 and 85 which comes to 92.14% .
You have also written that your son is currently in the 12th Grade, which means he has yet to appear for his final exams. In this case, you can choose the qualifying exam code as 01, leave the Class 12 percentage field blank and proceed to the subsequent sections of the form.
Hope this clears your doubt!
