hi, please provide details of mpharm whether it has same bpharm subjects or only one subject is studied as specialisation
The Master of Sciences of Pharmacy (MPharm) is the standard master's degree program in Pharmacy. It is the oldest honourable Diploma (Degree) authorized from the European Faculties of Pharmacy as it takes four years to complete.
Pharmaceutics.
Its core/main subject.
Pharmaceutics students have to have good knowledge about all other subjects of pharmacy, like pharmaceutical analysis and medicinal chemistry. And overall a clear view about industry.
Projects in pharmaceutics are very much practical and certain, example, unlike those of pharmaceutical chemistry, where you are not sure whether you will get desired reaction/product.
A good scope for PhD abroad, compared to other branches. Also, job.
Generic drug market of India is very good, So, of-course a good scope for job in Formulation and Development. Unlike Medicinal Chemistry department where a total no scope of job in research in India.
Also, in later part of career, a pharmaceutics person will be preferred for management/executive level positions in technical department.
ALL types of jobs open for you. Whereas, people of other branches can never get job in formulation branch, all jobs are open for pharmaceutics people, specifically, analytical.
No one can take a formulater’s place, unlike in analytical and med chem branches, people from B.Sc. and M. Sc. and in pharmacology department people from biotechnology. A formulater is a formulater, is unique, and job is safe.
For jobs in regulatory, IPR, marketing, technical writing, etc. a good knowledge of pharmaceutics will help you. Pharmaceutics is preferred there too.
If nothing else, one will get a job at manufacturing plant in a company.
Even at certain government positions, they need Pharmaceutics person specifically.
Almost all pharmacy colleges need lot of pharmaceutics professors. So, good scope in academics too.
And lastly, even if one wants to start his/her own pharmaceutical/retail/healthcare company, one needs pharmaceutics knowledge.
so all I can say it is a good decision
