Well both of them are equally important, i would suggest you to go with your interests, and the available options such as scope of further studies, availability of colleges, good faculty etc.

As far as market is concerned, there are job opportunites for both side, but there are more in case of software market. With texh leading giants in our country, and top IT industries such as TCS, Wipro, and companies such as Google, Microsoft recruiting software engineers, there is a quite hype among this industry.
