Usually, a caste certificate remains valid for the entire life of the individual . However, in some states, the validity is restricted to certain time duration, i.e. 3 years. The individuals who receive the caste certificate can see its validity mentioned on the certificate itself.
The income certificate is valid for only the financial year in which it was issued. So at most the validity of your income certificate is 1 year i.e. from the start of the fiscal on 1st April to its end on 31st March of the subsequent calendar year.
Your Caste certificate's validity depends on its purpose. For example if you belong to OBC-NCL, your Category certificate will be valid for 3 years.You need to get your income reviewed every 3 years based on your annual income for the past 3 years. Lets say your OBC certificate is only for Category and reservation purposes, the validity is life long. Now if you belong to General Category but can avail EWS reservation, the EWS certificate will be valid only for 1 year but General Category certificate is valid for life long.
