How actually jee mains catagory ranks are counted?

What ranks are included in JEE Mains result viz All india rank, state rank, catagory rank etc. How many states do not give addmission through JEE Mains exams.

Your general rank will be the All India rank and about the category rank, you'll get the rank for your particular category.

If you're ST candidate, then your category rank will be among all the ST students who have given the Mains exam.

In JEE mains rank is calculated for two categories first is general category rank (it is the all India rank of the candidate) and another one is the category rank of the candidate .

Let me explain

For general rank it is counted by taking all the students who appeared or passed. In case of cateogry rank all the students who belong to that cateogry are considered, and counted among them.

For eg in a exam total no of students who appered is 100. And there is 13 students belonging to your cateogry. You perforemed better than 87 students. Among 87 there was 11 belong to your cateogry. So your general rank will be 13 and cateogry rank will be 2.
