The OBC certificate can be acquired through either online or offline mode from the respective state government you belong to. At present only few state government provides online facility and in other states you must get it offline. To apply online you should visit the respective state's Official Backward Class Welfare Department portal( the name of the website ma vary with each state), where you will have to create your personal account and enter required details. You can follow the instruction given by the website. After applying , the status of your certificate will be notified to you by email or sms.
When it comes to offline mode you need to visit the nearby Tehsil Office, Revenue Office, SDM Office or CSC / SETU centers where you should fill in the application form and submit it with the required attested documents to the officer and track your status accordingly. It is difficult to assure by when you will get the certificate as it entirely depends on the officials.
The validity of the certificate is 12 months for central government reservation and 36 months for state government requirement . So check which mode is available under your state and proceed accordingly.
