• Before preparing for the exam,study all the features of the GATE exam.
• Prepare only from standard books,standard publications...etc
• Don't loose track by seeing it's huge syllabus.
• If currently in graduation,mantain a good balance b/w both,gate preparation and semster exams.
• If not in graduation,then put your full focus on Gate only.
• Join a good online test series that can provide you the best set of question papers possible,so that you can keep a track of your performance.
• And to qualify the gate the gate exam you just need to score higher than the minimum cutoff needed.(No Sarcasm)

You didn't asked "How to prepare for GATE Exam ?"

So there are many gate toppers,their stragies provided by them.

You can go and follow their advises.

But having a positive attitude will help you crack any exam.

Points to remember:

• Define your aim and target the desired exam right from the beginning. You should examine closely the examination pattern, syllabus and the level of difficulty.
• The first step of your should be, to go through previous years’ question papers of the aimed exam and identify what type of questions are asked, like whether it is theoretical (then what subjects/which topics are mostly asked) or derivations or numerical type.
• Keep one best reference book for each subject. You are not advised to read too many books for each subject; practically it is not possible in limited time frame.

thanks for asking your query ,for preparation of gate you have to be very determine,hardwork and consistent in your studies.You have to regularly check your performance by solving different years papers after qualifying gate you will be able to study in mtech in iits or gate job in psu companies.

To Qualify gate you need to get a minimum of 25 marks and may vary with the branch of engineering you are appearing for the GATE exam.

Eligibility Criteria

B.E./ B.Tech/ B.Pharm. 4 years after 10+2 Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology OR 3 years after B.Sc./ Diploma in Engineering/ Technology and those who are in the final year of these programs

Candidates who will qualify the entrance test and fulfill GATE eligibility criteria will be given admissions in M.Tech courses at different IITs, NITs, IIITs, and some CFTIs. There will be no separate counselling process for GATE and candidates will have to apply separately for different counselling processes. For admission in M.Tech courses in IITs, candidates will have to apply to register through COAP. The counselling process for COAP will be carried out separately. Applicants seeking admissions in NITs, IIITs and some CFTIs, the candidates will have to apply through Centralized Counselling for M.Tech (CCMT).

• Electrical Engineering EE 39.6 marks
• Mechanical Engineering ME 34.1 marks
• Electronics and Communication Engineering EC 26.7 marks

You can qualify gate easily. Following are some steps-

Make sure you know your syllabus – Before starting off with any studies, it is important for the candidates to know their syllabus.

Check all important study materials – While preparing, the candidates should use all of the important books and study materials. By preparing using the books, the candidates will have higher chances of doing well in the examination.

Solve Mock Tests and Sample Papers – Candidates are advised to solve sample papers and mock test during their preparation process. This will allow the candidates to practically apply what they have studied and check their mistakes so that they can rectify it.

You need to prepare from your college days itself. Its good to start in your 2nd year Btech. But its not too late to begin in 3rd year also. Get some good recommended books for GATE. Watch online videos, read on Quora the previous top rankers how they achieved their goal. Be regular in your preparation. Its most important.
