I would like to tell you that
It's a misconception that you need to be top 2.5 lakh to be eligible for jee advanced rather JEE main qualifying cut off for different categories is such that only a total of around 2,50,000 students become eligible to appear for JEE Advanced examination.
For example,
Jee main 2020 qualifying cut off to be eligible for jee advanced for st category was 39.0696101 percentile which is around common rank of 6-7 lakh . While a general candidate with 85 percentile which is around around 1.5 lakh - 1.7 lakh i. e in the top 2.5 lakh was still not eligible because Jee main 2020 qualifying cut off to be eligible for jee advanced for general category was 90.3765335 percentile.
So, to be eligible you need to meet qualifying cut off percentile.

jee advanced eligibility criteria is given below :-
-----) you need to pass your class 12th with at least 75% marks in aggregate in class 12 if belong to general or obc category or at least 65% marks if belongs to SC/ST or must be in the top 20 percentile in class 12 examination. For this year i. e 2021 this percentage requirement in class 12th has been lifted off.
----) You can give JEE advanced examination for the maximum of consecutive 2 years starting from the year of appearing for your 12th examination i. e to be eligible for JEE advanced 2021 your 12th board examination appearing year should be either 2021 or 2020 .
-----) There is upper age limit, according to which to be eligible for jee advanced 2021,you should be born on or after 1st October 1996. There is 5 years of age relaxation for SC, ST and PwD so candidates of SC/ST /PWD needs to be born on or after October 1, 1991.
-----) you must qualify JEE main 2021 to be eligible for jee advanced 2021

It doesn't matter how frequently they release the result on your rank because it depends upon the number of students appear in each phase. On an average around 5 lakhs student appear in most of the phase of JEE so its obvious than one can get a rank of 2.5 lakhs or even they may cross the limit of 4 lakhs also. Its totally depends upon your score and number of students appear In JEE main.
