If I am not wrong you want to know about FINANCIAL RISK MANAGEMENT. Here I am providing some of the information :
First you need to visit GARP website and register for the FRM exam. You may register only for part 1 exam or for both part 1 and 2 together. The decision to appear for part 1 and 2 together is based on your prior knowledge of FRM concepts and amount of time available for studies.
During the registration you could buy GARP study material as well. Apart from this you may use Schweser notes. Please refer GARP site for reference material/reading list.
The FRM exam is conducted in May and November every year. So you could pass FRM in one shot by appearing for both exams together. Otherwise, you need at least six more months as you can schedule next exam after six months.

ReplyThere is no specific eligibility criteria for appearing for FRM. FRM consist of FRM PART 1&2 and 2 years of relevant work experience. You need to have a passing score on the FRM examination, active fellow membership in GRAP and work experience in the area of financial risk or related Fields. And in case you don't have relevant work experience, then you can first appear for FRM 1&2 and on that basis you can get a work experience. GRAP will issues a letter stating candidate has passed the exam and it will be considered as "FRM HOLDER" but not "Certified FRM HOLDER". And once you are done with work experience GRAP will add you as certified.
Exam:
Every year twice this exam takes place i.e in May and November. Once a candidate passes the FRM-1, then he should pass the part-2 within 4 years. Candidates have 5 years from the date they sat and passed the the FRM part-2 to have their work experience certified.
Career and Growth:
All over the world FRM certificate holds value and it is recognized. After you have the certificate you can work as a freelance Financial Risk Manager. Although most of the corporations and investment bankers take FRM. At a global level FRM demand is more. Top employers of FRM includes Financial services firms UBS, Deutsche Bank, HSBC, auditing firms Ernst& Young (EY), PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and KPMG. Remuneration is also quite good.
If you are willing to do this course first set your path straight and simultaneously work on this. Few people do it after MBA and few while they are in the college. As it is very necessary to have work experience and you need to submit your CV to GRAP within 5 years to get certificate.
