How did general atmosphere of neglect affect phatik, and hoe did get into his teacher's bad books?
Hi Aspirant ,
The answer for your question is :
For a boy of age fourteen , his village ; his home was the paradise .Phatik found his uncle's house a little torture as he was an unwelcomed guest . His aunt showed him no affection .He started to miss his times in his village where he used to have friends , the fresh air of the village ,the broad river banks where he would wander about the live-long day singing and shouting for joy , the narrow brook where he could go and dive and swim at any time he like. Back in the city, the cramped atmosphere of neglect oppressed Phatik so much that he felt that he could hardly breathe surrounded by all those closed walls and houses in Calcutta . He felt like he lost his dignity when he lost all his books and complained about it to his aunt where his aunt showed her hatred towards him. And that day searching his books , drenched in rain was a turning point in Phatik's life .
I hope this helped you .
