How do the candidates of GEN-EWS category get admissions in colleges? like, is there a specific cut off for them, or are they admitted just on the basis of preference?
Hi
Your profile suggest that you are a medicine aspirant from up so I am guessing that your question is in regarding with Medical Colleges.
No, it's not like that you can get any medical college after qualifying Neet examination on the basis of your preference even if you belong to ews category. It's just that there's 10 % reservation for EWS.
In counselling you will have to fill your choices for colleges, and then on the basis of your rank /marks you are allotted a seat
You will have to meet cut off rank/marks, to get a seat in Medical College.
For instance,
Neet 2019 cutoff rank /marks for some of the medical college is provided below under UP State quota for ews category :-
- Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Memorial Medical College, Kanpur :- cut off rank - 6332 , cut off marks - 607
- Moti Lal Nehru Medical College, Pragyraj :- cut off rank :- 8480 , cut off marks :- 597
- Autonomous Medical College, Bahraich :- cut off rank :- 14731 , cut off marks :- 575 marks
So, you being from ews category I would suggest you to get at least around 625 marks if you want to get a seat in a government medical college under UP state quota in your Neet 2021 examination and as you have limited time left for your neet 2021 I would suggest you to prepare well which you can do following the below tips :-
*Go well through NCERT and master it
*Make routine or timetable :- your routine should revolve around 3 things i.e study, revise and practice
*After finishing each chapter you should practice questions, you should practise at least 80 to 100 numericals / mcqs in Each chapter
*Solve previous year NEET questions
*Once done with complete syllabus, go through NEET mock test papers
You can prepare well using our neet program for which link is provided below
