how does landfilling act as an important method of waste disposal?
Hello,
One of the most crucial methods of garbage disposal is landfill. It's a meticulously constructed structure that's been buried in the earth or built on top of it, and it separates waste from the environment (groundwater, air, rain). With the help of a bottom liner and a daily soil covering, this isolation is achieved. A clay liner is used in a sanitary landfill to keep the environment and waste separate. A synthetic (plastic) liner is used in a municipal solid waste (MSW) landfill to separate the garbage from the surrounding area. The goal of a landfill is to bury the waste in a way that isolates it from groundwater, keeps it dry, and keeps it out of the air. Trash won't break down much in these circumstances.A landfill is different from a compost pile, where the goal is to bury waste in a way that will cause it to decompose quickly.
Hope this helps.

There have been several methods adapted for solve this issue of waste management including bio waste management methods, slurry management, and landfilling as well.
The process of landfilling is considered to be the most helpful in Solving this problem of waste management because it needs no extra space for materialistic cost for waste disposal and moreover it also helps to replenish the soil with some of the vital nutrients after successful decomposition.
Hope it helps!!
