Hello,
Mechanical engineering is a core branch. It has got many opportunities you can get into government and private jobs. It has most number of seats in PSU jobs through GATE. Also most number of vacancies are available for ME students in Engineering Services exam among the 4 branches. There are many private companies as well who give jobs to ME students. Overall it is a very good branch.
