How is Electronics engineering in DJ Sanghvi?
Hii Sam
First of all the staff, almost all the departments have experienced faculty with some being authors as well, particularly the Production department. Most of them are helpful and friendly. The staff is a balanced mix of experienced and young professors.
Secondly the campus, there is literally no campus as such at the moment, but the classroom are pretty decent and so are the labs which are well equipped. For Mechanical department, some labs are coming up in the under construction building, so for the time being those practicals are conducted at the nearby Mukesh Patel's campus. The new Canteen is a good option considering the variety offered at the roadside food stalls in the vicinity. And location wise it is walking distance from Vile Parle station and a 5-10 minute rickshaw ride to Andheri station.
Thirdly the crowd, OH! Absolutely the best crowd you would find in any engineering college in Mumbai, be it IITB, VJTI, SPCE/SPIT. It is a cosmopolitan crowd where you will always find some one like you and many people unlike you for company. Being a Gujarati minority college you will find majority of students are Gujaratis but that there isn't any groupism on these lines.
Other than these points, the main drawback which brings it down is the affiliation to MU. Period.
So if you want to get into an Engineering college in Mumbai, other than IIT, set your preferences in the following order
- VJTI
- SPCE/SPIT
- DJ (Mumbai University) - for those on Western line
- KJ - for those from Central side
- TCET/TSEC/Fr Agnel/DBIT - depending on your stream
For the diploma students, unless you are in top 100 of the merit list DJ is your best bet and especially for those living in the western line.
Placements. The college has a decent Placement cell. It provides placements to the students with average package being around 3 to 3.5lpa. Plus it does provide every help to place unplaced students even after the results are announced, thereby ensuring 100% placement.

I can say about the DJ Sanghvi as a whole-
When we compare DJ to any other MU affiliated college, without any doubt you can come to a conclusion that DJ is the best amongst them.
