How is rank in JEE M&A calculated? If score of two or more candidates is same , then what are the criteria for the decision of their rank?

Ranks are alloted on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance exam.
According, to the officials If there is a tie then below is the criteria for JEE Main
- Resolution by marks obtained in Mathematics in JEE (Main). Candidate obtaining higher marks will be given better rank.
- Resolution by marks obtained in Physics in the JEE (Main).Candidate obtaining higher marks will be given better rank
- Resolution by finding the ratio of positive marks and negative marks. Candidate having higher absolute value of the ratio will be given better rank.
- If the resolution is not possible after this criterion, candidates will be given the same rank
For JEE Advanced
Rank lists is prepared based on the aggregate marks in JEE (Advanced).
If the aggregate mark scored by two or more candidates are the same, then the
following tie-break policy will be used for awarding ranks:
Higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Mathematics. If this does not break the tie, higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Physics. If there is a tie even after this, candidates will be assignedthe same rank.
