How is Sona College Salem ?? Is it good ?

SONA college is the best college in and around salem district. The campus is comparatively small spanning across 50 odd acres. The best thing about the college is the student friendly management. If you are from salem and intrested in pursuing your engineering in salem then it's the best private college without a second thought. The college is good for departments like Computer sci and Infotech(IT) if you intrested in Mech or electrical/electronics I personally would not recommend SONA as you rarely get core companies for placement. Academic records of the college is good but however if you are a sportsperson dont expect much here, try some other college where you can grow as a sportsperson. Fees structure of the college is not that expensive one can complete engg under 3-4L MQ and if you are from counselling(govt quota) you can do it under 2-2.5L(all the above approx figures are excluding hostel). One more good thing for toppers is that you can avail scholarship if your good in academics and sports . Overall a good college but with very little exposure when you compare it with the likes of PSG, Amrita, VIT etc. Pros: Good infrastructue, Student friendly management. Cons:less exposure, limited placements

Placements : Placements are provided in college but with minimum core companies and more IT sector companies. The IT companies want mechanical engineers who have the knowledge of programming languages, so students have to have some interest in learning programming languages. The college trains students for placements from the second year onwards.

Infrastructure : The college has a very good infrastructure with a green campus. The management gives importance to extracurricular activities and sports. They encourage students to be part of all types of events. They provide various learning software like Blackboard, Imparts, and Moodle online tests.

Faculty : Many faculty members are PhD holders. They are well-experienced and give their best for the students to learn good engineering. They are friendly with the students and encourage them more. In college, they give course objective and learning objectives to know the programme, like what it is exactly and where it is used.
