Hello aspirant!
I hope that you are doing well. The placements in any stream depends on various factors like your college etc. If you are doing ECE from any Nit or IIT then the average placements for your stream is about 4-5 lacs per annum, but this is average you can do better. Also if you are studying in a private college than your placement will depend on the reputation of your college ,the exposure it has to industries, whether companies visit you college for hiring or not.
If you can specify which college you are currently studying or you are seeking to take an admission than I may give you more clear advice.

Hi Bindu,
ECE is one of the most popular branches. You can work as an engineer, choose research while pursuing your post-graduation. In fact, most ECE students get placed in IT firms also. PSU recruitment for ECE students is also huge. However, the cutoff for ECE is also very high as many students prefer this. Most NITs offer this, IIT Guwahati, Bhubaneshwar offer this but the older IITs don't. Many IIITs also offer B.Tech ECE.
Hope this helps you.
All the best!!!
