Now coming to placements stats of Instrumentation Engineering for 2020 batch:-
Recruiters were Linde (2 offers), Worley (3 offers), Technip (1 offer), Haldia Petrochemicals (1 offer), TCS (3 offers), Cognizant (1 offer)
Packages ranging from 4 to 6.6 LPA and the median being 6 LPA for core ones. 11/16 students got placed which is not bad amidst this pandemic and considering some CUians do prefer higher studies over job.
Instrumentation Engineers are responsible for designing, developing, installing, managing, and maintaining equipments that are used to monitor and control engineering systems and machinery. They are required mostly in the process, biomedical and chemical industry where measurement & automation plays a crucial role. The demand for Instrumentation Engineers will only be going to increase with the advent of Artificial Intelligence, Self Driving Cars, Robotics etc.
Additionally, Instrumentation Engineering being a circuit branch will easily allow you to switch from core sector to software related roles in product based MNCs which often pays 7 figure CTCs. There are core CS subjects in IE syllabus like Data Structures & Algorithms, Advanced Programming, Software Engineering., Computer Organization & Architecture, Database Management System, and Computer Networks which will aid you further if you wish to do higher studies in CS.

But, even you don't get placement during your study, there's a very good chance of getting a standard job after completing your study.The reason behind this, once you passed out from this college you can feel that your basic concepts about the core subjects are all clear.
