The advantages of giving entrance exam are:

1. One platform to perform
2. One can select out of several competition levels to regard his needs and intellectual level in order to give his best output
3. Because Boards exams are the most shitty way to determine capability
4. Once you enter the chain, there is no stop, you can keep raising your education level and competing at higher levels so NEVER ENDING KNOWLEDGE LADDER
5. Because you get recognition (kindly see it is different from status in society or brand attached to the exam like JEE ADV)

There is no advantage for appearing any entrance exam. Entrance exam is taken to get a rank to get an admission in a college, institute or university. After admission, there is no use of the taken entrance ranks in other process.

If one takes JEE mains then the score,rank is used to get an admission in different engineering colleges provided that college accepts JEE main for admission. After counselling process and admission is done, there is no use of it.

Candidates who has performed well can apply for state level and national level scholarships based on the qualification.
