Hi Aseem,
In case of JEE Main, the candidate will only be able to appear in the exam for 3 times. For JEE Advanced, the candidate can attempt the exam maximum of 2 times and that too in consecutive years.
There are certain eligibility criteria for both JEE Main and JEE Advanced.
If you are planning to appear for JEE Main then you should be born on or after October 1, 1993. There is 5 year of relaxation for the students belonging to ST/SC/PWD category. Apart from this, you should have passed class 12 or qualifying exam in 2016 or 2017. If you are appearing for the class 12 exam or equivalent to it in 2018 then also you are eligible for the exam. You can visit at- https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-eligibility-criteria to get more detailed information about the eligibility criteria of JEE Main.
For JEE Advanced also there are certain criteria like age limit, performance in JEE Main exam, appearance in class 12 or equivalent exam and earlier admission in IITs. For detailed information regarding the eligibility criteria, you can visit https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-advanced-eligibility-criteria
I hope I am able to answer your query.
Thanks
