How many marks must be in the OBC category to enroll in AIIMS?
Hi Faizan
AIIMS conducts AIIMS MBBS entrance exam every year for admissions to MBBS courses across seven AIIMS Institutes. The cutoff rank (last rank to get admission) for every year is different. Since, the exam has not been held till now therefore, it will be difficult to predict the cutoff marks or rank for this year. I can inform you about the previous year cutoff trend to get an idea for this year.
The minimum required percentage to qualify the exam if you belong to OBC category is 45 % which means you need to score 9 0 marks out of 200. For candidates belonging to General category, it is 50 % and for General category, it is 40 %. You must note that scoring minimum required percentage does not ensure a seat. This just serves as an eligibility criterion.
The cutoff percentile required to qualify the exam is calculated according to the minimum required percentage. In 2017, the cutoff percentile was 97.4205359 for candidates belonging to OBC category. AIIMS MBBS cutoff of approximately 9 7 percentile in OBC category implies that about 9 7 % of candidates belonging to OBC category scored marks equal to or more than AIIMS MBBS cutoff requirement of 4 5 %. The cutoff percentile for General category candidates is 99.0014978 and for SC/ST, it is 94.1220114.
Last year, for OBC category, the cutoff rank was 5,590 in AIIMS New Delhi. This means that the candidate who scored 5590 th rank was the last candidate in SC category who secured a seat in AIIMS New Delhi. For candidates belonging to OBC category, the last rank was 1,143 , for General category it was 52 and for ST category it was 4,478.
