The candidate needs to get a minimum of 84 percentile for qualfying to JEE ADVANCED. There is no such thing JEE MAIN qualified. The merit list will be made based on your score in JEE MAIN. Then based on your rank you can select a seat in whichever college you want.
Cutoff varies from college to college and from course to course. If you are looking for admission into NITs then you will need to get a minimum of 95 percentile in all categories to get a seat.
