How many Merit of NMMS Maharastra General
The NMMS Maharashtra results for the December 2025 exam have been officially declared as of February 24, 2026.
To understand the "Merit" or selection for the General Category, you need to look at two things: the Qualifying Marks (to be eligible) and the Selection Quota (to actually get the scholarship).
1. Qualifying Marks (Minimum Required)
To even be considered for the merit list, a General Category student must pass both papers (MAT and SAT) with a minimum aggregate score.
-
Mental Ability Test (MAT): 40%
-
Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT): 40%
Aggregate: You must score at least 72 marks out of 180 (combined) to qualify.
2. Selection Quota (The Merit List)
Just qualifying does not guarantee a scholarship. Selection is based on the state-wide quota.
-
Total Scholarships for Maharashtra: 11,682
-
General Category Share: Approximately 50% of these seats (around 5,841 seats) are for the General (Open) category.
-
Selection Process: Merit lists are prepared District-wise. This means the "cutoff" marks will vary from one district to another (e.g., Pune might have a higher merit score than Gadchiroli).
3. How to Check Your Merit Rank
Since the results were released on February 24, you can check the official selection list now:
