These rank predictions are based just on the trends observed in the last few years taking into account the difficulty level of paper. But these are just a rough estimate rather than being a pitch perfect and sure result. Even your own calculated score may vary. So you can't completely rely on the rank predictors, but you can surely hope for rank around that predicted.

these are just rough estimates but now that the paper is done & you have calculated your marks roughly
based on a variety of factors a cut off is given based on which rank is predicted but no predictions can be said to be completely true till the actual result is out.
