You should score mininmum 96 percentile in JEE Mains for getting admission in NITs.

I think you wanted to say percentile instead of percentage.
Let me tell you there are around 15000 seats in NIT and obc has 27% reservation in it. So total seats for obc through unreserved cateogry is 4000. Considering some good rankers take drops, goes to iit, or other reason. You have to keep your rank under 7000 in obc to get core branches in NITs. General rank crosponding to it will be 30000. So you need to have your percentile greater than 97 in order to get a seat in NIT. You may get upto 10000 obc rank, but these branches will be lower branch of that college.
