In order to be eligible to apply for Australian PR, an individual needs at least 60 points.
Of these 60 points, a maximum of 20 points can be obtained through English language proficiency: either IELTS or TOEFL.
- A score of 8 or above on the IELTS is equivalent to 20 points.
- A score of above 7 and less than 8 is eqivalent to 10 points.
- Zero points are awarded for an IELTS score lower than 7.
