There are 8 categories to which reservation is given in Maharashtra Common Entrance Test. These eight categories are

schedule caste and scheduled caste converts to Buddhism,
schedule tribe,
vimukta jati denotified tribes
Nomadic tribes one
Nomadic tribes two
Nomadic tribes three
Other backward classes
socially and educationally backward classes
