I would like to give you a brief about this as following:
After giving the seats to the gate qualified candidates, shall be filled by conducting offline entrance test. Admission to M.E./M.Tech. Programme shall be open to candidates who obtain at least 60% (55% for SC/ST/Industry sponsored) marks in the aggregate in the qualifying examination from a recognised University.
Candidate can apply for M.Tech / ME for this session 2019-20 from the official website www.thapar.edu. Before going to apply candidates must ensure their eligibility criteria and all other details carefully.

In other departments/schools, remaining vacant seats shall be filled on the basis of merit prepared by giving 30% weightage to 12th marks and 70% weightage to B.E./B.Tech. marks (up to the end of the pre-final year). Overall minimum 60% (55% for SC/ST/Industry sponsored) in B.E./B.Tech. shall be required to be eligible for admission.
Or - In case M.Sc. is qualifying exam, the seats remaining vacant shall be filled on the basis of merit prepared by giving 50% weightage to B.Sc. marks and 50% weightage to M.Sc. marks (upto end of pre-final year). Overall minimum 60% (55% for SC/ST/Industry sponsored) in M.Sc. shall be required to be eligible for admission.
