There are many specialisation which is available at Post graduate level in managment institutes. The admission to these specialisation is available through all major MBA entrance exams like CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT etc. The admissions are made basis ranking and percetnile in the entrance exams coupled with academic profile and work ex. While one set of specilaisation deals with the work functions, the another set of specialisation deal with the sector-specification. The mojorly specialisations in B-schools relates to functions. For example, MBA in HR, MBA in Finance, MBA in Telecom, MBA in IT, MBA in Strategy and Planning etc.

Of late, sector specific specialisations are also being offered and the numbers are only increasing for such specialisations. For example, MBA in Retail, MBA in Real Estate, MBA in Helath Management, MBA in Pharmaceuticals, MBA in Travel and Tour, MBA in Textile Management, MBA in Energy Management, MBA in Rural Management etc..
