how many students do really prepare for mains??

According to the JEE ADVANCED brochures, at least 250000 applicants qualify in JEE MAIN every year, including categories.Every year, about 1 million people apply for the main exam. In which 50% of students enrol only for the purpose of trying their luck. They aren't taking JEE seriously at all. The majority of them are 12th grade kids who are just studying for their boards.

So, about half a million students engage in JEE preparation, with 2–3 lakh applicants unwilling to practise properly due to parental or societal pressure, some of them are from Kota.

Finally  Only around 2 lakh applicants are serious about their JEE(main+advance) preparation, and they are serious about their future.

However, owing to a lack of appropriate preparation, many are unable to qualify for JEE MAIN, while some non-serious students are able to pass the test due to chance. If you want to get a seat in a top-ranked NIT, IIIT, or other well-recognized engineering colleges like DTU, NSIT, BIT, and others with a decent branch, you must compete with just 2 lakh students in JEE MAIN, not 10 lakh with an air coming under20k

Every year, only 30k students are accepted into the IITs, NITs, and IIITs. Only applicants with a JEE ADVANCE rank of less than 10,000 are eligible for admission to IITs.

Do work hard and prove yourself, so that you and your parents may be proud of you. Just go for it!
