Hello Aspirant,
As joint entrance exam known as jee conducted by the central board of India as you wanted to know the important topics in chemistry in the chapter hydrocarbons naming and numbering, reactions withe hydro carbons ,and reactions with alcohols, reactions with the carboxylic acids, reactions with the ketones, reactions with the esters ,nomeculature etc are some of the important tooics in the hydro carbons so study well and work hard to get good marks in the future examinations ALL THE BEST for your future and i think my suggestions and knowledge may be helpful to u.
You need to always remember that Organic Chemistry is very important as it has the most weightage in JEE Mains . You should also remember that you can't leave anything in Organic Chemistry. So you need to prepare each and every reaction . Mostly you are asked to write the reactants and product of a reaction and arranging them in a specific order. Every chapter has their importance in their own way like from Carboxylic group Aldol Condensation and Cannizaro Reaction mostly come . So you need to remember every named reaction and every test.
Hydrocarbons is vast topic in itself containing many different disciplines in it. For JEE MAINS, you need to focus on the basic topics taught in class 11th and 12th but to certain advanced level. You need to focus on conformations, important reactions and their mechanisms such as Reactions of benzene, Ozonolysis of alkenes, decarboxylation, addition reaction, substitution reaction, elimination reaction, Isomerism etc.,
Hope this helps.
Good luck!
