A Search Engine Optimization Specialist is responsible for analyzing, reviewing and implementing websites that are optimized to be picked up by search engines. An SEO Specialist will have in-depth knowledge of keyword research, SEO copywriting and the behaviors of search engines.
The key requirement is prior experience and working kowledge.
It depends on which firm you work in as an SEO. If the firm is well established then it will take you years to establish yourself. But if the firm is new and you also grow with it then it might take you only 5-6 years to earn in lakhs per month.

In general SEO fresher's 1 to 2 years experience draw from 10k to 20k per month in Indian currency.
However, it all depends on expertize in SEO over a period of 4 years of experience in a startup. In general, it should be between 30–50k per month or even higher. For a startup, if you are a great asset they can pay you further higher.
So depending upon that, I guess after 7 - 10 years you can earn in lakhs per months.
