How much aware one should be about programming skills before joining B.Tech?

There is no need to have any programming skills before joining B.Tech. In CSE course the teach programming from the basic level so that even a student with no knowledge of programming can cope up with other students but i would suggest you to see online videos in programming so that it will be easy for you in the B.tech level and can do well.

See, in first year, the syllabus is same for almost all branches of b. Tech. And, it also includes any programming language (mostly C or C++), and you can learn that easily by books/online videos. Also, if you pay attention, then you can also learn it itself in the college. But if you are joining CSE or computer engineering for B. Tech, you can learn programming languages as this will make things easier for you.
