hello aspirant,

The cutoff's will be not constant every year to get admissions in to NIT'S and IIT'S.

every year it varies due to the main following factors :

1) Number of students appearing exam

2) complexity of paper

strictly speaking, to enter in to NIT'S and IIT'S, one should be getting a rank that must be below 5000.

it may also changes depending up on category wise, but the mark is up to its brim of 5000 and below.

for especially IIT'S, rank should be as low as best, since they are the highest knowledge resource areas.

Hi Balaji....

The closing ranks generally vary every year depending on number of students appeared, difficulty level, previous year cutoff trends.

So difficult to gauge any minimum score, but as per trends the cutoff to get into newer NITs is under rank 40,000 under JEE mains as NITs accept only JEE Mains.hence, suggested score of more than 150+ is safe to be considered for getting newer NITs while for top NITs a minimum of 210+ is must.

Coming to top IITs, the cutoffs are under rank 2000 and with newer IITs the cutoff ranks under 9000, which results into cutoff of 310+ for top IITs and for newer IITs it should be around 185+.
