how much i score {rank and mark approx.} in jee main to get cse in tier-2 collage ?
It matters which colleges who consider as Tier 2. For me after Tier 1 and Tier 1.5, Tier 2 Colleges in India are somewhat like
1. NITs (Delhi, Durgapur, Patna, Bhopal, Hamirpur, Jamshedpur, Srinagar, Raipur & Rest of Newer Northeast NITs)
2. IIITs (Bhubaneshwar, Sricity, Kalyani, Una, Etc.)
3. Top Private Universities like VIT Vellore, SRMIST, MIT WPU Pune, Thapar University, LNMIIT, Manipal
4. Top State Engineering Colleges
5. GFTIs (PEC Chandigarh, BIT Mesra, IIEST Shibpur)
The cutoffs for State Engineering Colleges as well as Private Universities which accept JEE Main Score is highly variable. As far as Tier 2 NITs and IIITs are concerned, assuming you are a General Category Aspirant, you need to secure atleast CRL of 8-10k to secure CSE (Non Home State Category), in one of the Tier 2 NITs, whereas atleast 20k to secure CSE in one of the Newer IIITs or North East NITs. As far as score is concerned, you need to target a Percentile anywhere around 98-99+, or 155-170+/300 in terms of Score in JEE Main.
Dear aspirant,
In the tier-2 colleges maximum of the nits, gfti's ,iiits come in this category. So to get cse in top colleges of tier -2 you need to get atleast 250+ out of 300 to be on a safer side. But note that these calculations are according to my observations and these are subjected to change. It varies every year with the different factors of the exam. You need to have atleast 99.5 percentile.
