Currently there is no such criteria of 1st class or 2nd class at 10+2 level. So you just need to score the best you can.

However, usually marks greater than 60% are considered as 1st class or 1st devision.

You need to score an overall aggregate of 60% marks in class 12th boards to get 1st division passed.

Now coming to different higher studies option and required marks for them

As you haven't  specified whether you are an engineering aspirant or medical aspirant so, I would discuss both in short

I would be giving idea for general category as the eligibility criterion for rest of the categories are always lesser than general category so clearing the marks as per general category would be safest.

for JEE mains you need to get an overall aggregate of 75% marks in CBSE boards to qualify for different engineering colleges under JEE mains.

for different engineering exams the criteion for 12th is different like in west bengal jee its 60% in 12th boards

so basically getting an overall score of 75% would be safest for engineering aspirants

Now coming to medical aspirants

for general category you need to score 60% marks in 12th to sit for  AIIMS

and for rest medical exams 60%  in 12th board would be the safest score for the candidate to sit for all medical exams.
