According to the new eligibility criteria candidates to qualify for the admission in the IITs/NITs/IIITs and such other CFTIs whose admissions are based on the JEE (Advanced)/JEE(Main) ranks, they should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST students the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination.
There shall be no weightage for the 12th class marks in calculating the ranks in the JEE (Main) examination.

I have heard that for AHSEC (Assam) board 70% is required for getting admission in NIT,IIT,IIIT

Eligibility criteria is same for all the boards but top 20 percentile vary for every board. For Assam Higher Secondary Education Council board top 20 percentile cut off was 70% from last 2 years.
Mam, i got 74.4% marks in the 12th class examination AHSEC (Assam). Then i required for getting admission in NIT. Mam answer please...
