to get an admission in nit you should have atleast 75% above marks in 12th board conducted by the perspective board exam and also in jee mains paper you should get more then 200 marks either you belongs to reservation or not and you will have cut off marks depending on your category it is better if you score more than 200 marks even though if you have reservation beacuse there are chances of getting seat in a top ranked nit

Hello,to get admission into any NIT,getting above 75% aggregate in 12th class is mandatory.For getting admission into older NITs, it is safe to secure marks between 150 to 180 and to get admission into newer NITs,it is safe to secure marks between 120 to 140.The stated marks may slightly vary above or below the given range depending on the no.of candidates appearing,no. of seats available,difficulty of exam etc..
For getting admission in any NIT ,first you must have 75 percent in 12th board. And jee mains marks depends category wise.
You have to score above 115 marks for feel secure if you are general.
You have to score above 95 if you are obc and above 80 if you are sc/ st.
Then only you can feel safe for getting admission in any NIT . Every year cut-off varies.

To get admission in top NITs ,you should have 75% in the 12th board and your score should be very good in jee mains. Cutoff marks is changing year to year based on the particulars of exam and it is differs category wise.As per 2019 the cutoff for general category is 89.75,OBC-78,SC-74,ST-44.for more details just go through the link provided :
